One of the main reasons I got into blogging was to indulge my cosmopolitan inclinations. I figured, wrongly it now turns out, that blogging was more international in outlook than the much-loathed mainstream media. But, according to a study by Ethan Zuckerman at the Berman Center, blogs as a whole make reference to international issues with much less frequency than traditional media.
Considering the fact that the media has been hemorrhaging international correspondents and bureaus for decades, this is an indictment of the reach of blogs.
